Cosmetic Surgery in Pune: Face, Body, Skin and Hair
Cosmetic surgery changes the appearance of healthy parts of the body, such as the nose, face, abdomen, chest or hair, to match what a person would like. It is a branch of plastic surgery. Good results depend on choosing the right procedure for the concern, realistic expectations, a qualified plastic surgeon and careful aftercare.

What does cosmetic surgery cover?
Cosmetic surgery covers operations and treatments chosen to change appearance. At this clinic the procedures fall into four groups:
| Concern | Procedures |
|---|---|
| Face and nose | Rhinoplasty, facelift, buccal fat removal, fat grafting |
| Body shape | Liposuction, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, gynecomastia surgery |
| Skin and scars | Scar revision, vitiligo surgery, tattoo removal |
| Hair | Hair transplant, PRP therapy, GFC treatment |
Hymenoplasty is also offered, with private counselling. Breast procedures are grouped under breast surgery.
How do you choose the right procedure?
The same concern can have different causes. Fullness of the abdomen may be fat, loose skin or separated muscles; a broad nose may be bone, cartilage or thick skin; thinning hair may be pattern loss or a medical problem. A consultation focuses first on the cause, then on the options:
- What bothers you, and how it affects your life.
- Examination to find the cause.
- Options, including non-surgical alternatives and doing nothing.
- Realistic results, recovery time and risks for each option.
- Your health: smoking, weight stability, medical conditions and medicines.
Taking time to decide, and returning with questions, is encouraged.
What makes cosmetic surgery safer?
- A qualified plastic surgeon: Dr. Sushrut Tated holds an M.Ch. in Plastic Surgery.
- Honest assessment, including screening for unrealistic expectations or distress about appearance that surgery cannot fix.
- An appropriate facility for the anaesthesia and the operation.
- Preparation: stopping smoking, reviewing medicines and planning recovery.
- Clear aftercare and a way to reach the team after surgery.
What about recovery and cost?
Recovery ranges from a day or two after PRP or small procedures to several weeks after a tummy tuck or mommy makeover. Each procedure page has a recovery timeline and the factors that affect cost, such as the extent of surgery, anaesthesia, facility and follow-up. The cost depends on the final plan, which is agreed after consultation.

Questions about cosmetic
What is the difference between plastic and cosmetic surgery?
Plastic surgery is the wider specialty that restores and reshapes the body. It includes reconstructive surgery, which repairs problems caused by injury, disease or birth differences, and cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery, which changes appearance by choice.
Is cosmetic surgery safe?
Every operation carries risks, including bleeding, infection, scarring, anaesthetic complications and an outcome you do not like. Risks are lower with careful assessment, a qualified plastic surgeon, an accredited facility and good aftercare. Each procedure page lists its specific risks.
How do I choose a cosmetic surgeon?
Check the surgeon's plastic surgery qualification and medical council registration, ask how often they perform your procedure, see whether they explain risks and alternatives clearly, and make sure you know who will look after you after surgery.
Is cosmetic surgery covered by insurance?
Usually not. Procedures done to change appearance are generally excluded. Some operations, such as breast reduction for symptoms or scar revision after injury, may be considered by some insurers.
What is the right age for cosmetic surgery?
It depends on the procedure. Many operations are done only once growth has finished, and most are for adults. Teenagers are assessed especially carefully, with parents involved.
